Kitsap County is surrounded by over 300 miles of saltwater shoreline and is nested between the Cascade and Olympic Mountains in Washington State, west of Seattle just a ferry boat ride away. Kistap County is far enough away from the busy city life to allow you to relax, but close enough to get to Seattle or Tacoma within an hour. For day trips, Vancouver, Canada, Portland Oregon, Ocean Shores, and the Hoh Rain Forest are available for exploration.
Kitsap County offers wonderful golf courses, a race track, wonderful restaurants and galleries as well as attractions from many cultures. Home to five military bases, Kitsap County is proud to have the military personnel from these bases live in, and contribute to our communities. There is a strong Norwegian presence that can be seen throughout the Peninsula, from the building designs to the bakeries.
Kitsap has wonderful beaches for walking and exploring as well as local wildlife to observe. There are lighthouses to visit, mountains to hike, and parks to play in. The people who live on the Peninsula are pleasant and helpful and life moves at a slower pace than in the big cities. The best way to experience Kitsap is to take a weekend and explore our Peninsula yourself! |
